The development of the Gold Road

The development of Gullvegen started in May 2017. Since then, we have worked to adapt the farm as best as possible as an Inn på tunet farm and a visitor farm. There has been a lot of construction work during this period. We have restored buildings, new buildings have been built, roads have been made. We are still not quite there. But we are laying brick by brick, working purposefully to create the unique place we believe and want Gullvegen to be.

Good supporting players

You rarely reach your goal without good helpers. That's how it has been for us. There is good help in a kind grandfather who can swing the hammer, - and great parents and in-laws who are always there.

We have received important support from the public sector in various ways. Through the Siva-supported incubator scheme of Atheno, we have received good help and advice. They have "pushed" us forward and challenged us when we have needed it, and cheered us on when we have needed it. We have experienced Innovation Norway as positive from the first time we presented our plans, and they have made the venture possible with financial support and advice.

From the Cooperation Council for Sunnhordland we received support for a pilot project in connection with the cabin development. And Bømlo municipality has been positive all the way. The sum of this motivates us to continue investing in farm tourism here out in the gap in the sea at Bømlo!
