  • What is glamping – and what can I expect?

    Glamping (glamorous camping) gives you the best of both worlds: close to nature – with the comfort of a hotel.


    At Stormhyttene in Bømlo you live in the middle of the Westland nature, with views, peace and quality in every detail. Perfect for those who want to experience nature – without giving up comfort.


  • Who is a stay with us suitable for?

    The storm huts are perfect for:

    This is a peaceful and relaxing nature experience – far from stress and hustle and bustle.


  • Is this an accommodation for me who never “camps”?

    Yes – and maybe especially then 😊

    You leave behind the tent, the cold and the stress. Here you will find a ready-made bed, a warm cabin and spectacular views.

  • Are the cabins accessible to everyone?

    The terrain around the cabins is natural and somewhat rugged, and the cabins are therefore not fully wheelchair accessible.

  • Can I give a stay as a gift?

    Yes!

  • Where can I find information about my booking?

    After booking you will receive an email with all the information you need:

    Directions, check-in, tips and practical information.


  • When is check-in and check-out?

     

    • Check-in from 4:00 PM
    • Check-out before 12:00

    This gives you plenty of time to enjoy both evenings and mornings in nature.


  • How does check-in work?

    You have easy, self-service check-in.

    Before arrival, you will receive a message with everything you need for a smooth start to your stay.


  • What if I have to cancel?

    Cancellation policies depend on where you book.

🚗 Practical information

  • How do I get to Stormhyttene at Bømlo?

    The storm shelters are located on Lykling – part of the Gullvegen in Bømlo.


    The easiest way to get here is by car, and you will receive detailed directions after booking.


  • Is parking free?

    Yes – free parking right next to the cabins.

    From there it is a short and nice walk on a gravel path, about 70 meters to walk.


  • How far is it to go?

    Approx. 70 meters from the parking lot to the cabin.


  • What do I do if something doesn't work?

    Contact us at once.

    You will find contact information in the message you receive before arrival - we are here to help you.


🛖 Facilities – this is what you will find in the cabins

  • Is there electricity and WiFi?

    Yes – you have both electricity and WiFi, even if you are in the middle of nature.

  • Is there heating in the cabins?

    Yes, and that's one of the things guests appreciate the most.

    The cabins have both a heat pump, underfloor heating and a heater – perfect all year round.


  • Is it water?

    Yes, you have drinking water available in the cabin.

    In addition, extra water is available if needed.



  • Is there a toilet and shower?

    Each cabin has its own toilet building with an incinerator toilet, urinal and sink.

    Showers can be found at Lykling Guest Harbour:

     

    • approx. 2 min by car
    • approx. 10 min on foot
  • What can I make from food?

    You have access to:

    • Refrigerator
    • Kettle
    • Tableware and cutlery
    • Fire pit with grill

    Firewood is included - perfect for both simple meals and a cozy campfire atmosphere 🔥


  • Can I bring food?

    Yes, you bring your own food and drinks.

    Tips:

     

    • Think simply and well
    • Bring something you can grill.

    There is a shop and restaurant about 10 minutes away if you need anything extra.


  • How private is the stay?

    This is one of the best reasons to choose Stormhyttene.


    The cabins are shielded from each other and the surroundings – and you can regulate the view yourself with curtains.


    Here you will truly experience peace and privacy.


  • How is the cleanliness?

    Cleaning is included.

    You will arrive at a clean and prepared cabin – and we appreciate it being left tidy.

  • What can I experience in the area?

    The storm huts are located in the middle of an area rich in history and nature:


    • The gold mines at Lykling
    • Hiking trails in varied terrain
    • Coast and sea
    • Swimming areas

    This is Western Norway at its best.



  • How close are the gold mines?

    Just a few minutes from the cabins – either on foot or by car.

    A perfect little discovery trip during your stay.


  • Can I bring something from the area?

    No – the gold mining area is an important part of the cultural heritage.

    We ask all guests to respect this and leave nature untouched.


  • What does it mean that this is part of Geopark Sunnhordland?

    Stormhyttene and Gullvegen are located in a UNESCO Geopark.

    This means that the area has unique geology and history – and is protected and conveyed for the future.

  • How many people can live in the cabin?

    The cabins are best suited for up to 3 people.

    It is possible to accommodate an extra guest for an additional fee.


  • Can I celebrate something special?

    Yes – and I recommend it 💛

  • Can I bring a dog?

    Unfortunately – pets are not allowed.
